Literatur und Interpretation. Ein Unterrichtsvortrag mit (un)gewöhnlichen Beispielen

Der Deutschunterricht soll, so möchte ich dies formulieren, die Schüler in die Lage versetzen, sich in der Sprache Deutsch angemessen auszudrücken und die im Alltag üblichen Gebrauchstexte eigenständig zu produzieren. So übt man denn Berichte, Argumentationen, Protokolle, vielleicht auch mal Tagebucheinträge und was dergleichen Dinge mehr sind. Noch viel interessanter wird es aber, wenn die Literatur ins Spiel kommt. Was ist Literatur eigentlich? Der Begriff kommt vom lateinischen littera, ae, „der Buchstabe“. Somit ist Literatur die Gesamtheit der Buchstaben, will sagen die Gesamtheit des schriftlich fixierten, des Geschriebenen, von Goethes Faust und Thomas Manns Zauberberg über den Pschyrembel 1 und das BGB 2 hin zum Jerry Cotton 3 Roman und den Drehbüchern von Derrick 4 zu den Gebrauchsanweisungen moderner Elektrogeräte. James Thurber : "The rabbits who caused all the trouble" (interpretation)

The story “The Rabbits who caused all the Trouble” is a text from James Thurber's book “Fables of our Time” which was written in 1939. Basically the story is about the conflict of two groups, the rabbits on the one side and the wolves on the other side. The wolves appear to be more powerful. They are very fond of their way of living and consider it as the only one. They despise the way the rabbits live and want them to change. When several natural disasters occur, the wolves blame the rabbits for them. Finally the wolves lock the rabbits up. When the other animals are concerned about the fate of the rabbits a few week later, the wolves announce that the rabbits have been eaten by the wolves. As for the interpretation of the story: the wolves are a powerful people who want to force their way of life on other peoples. Dürrenmatt: Das Unternehmen der Wega (I) Kontext und Inhalt

  Das Unternehmen der Wega Ein Hörspiel von Friedrich Dürrenmatt (1921-1990) In der Vergangenheit generierte Zukunft In der Zukunft angesiedelte Werke wie etwa solche der Science Fiction zeigen den historischen Kontext ihrer Entstehungszeit auf. So schildert etwa Jules Vernes „De la Terre à la Lune“ eine Mondlandung, wie sie sich der Autor im ausgehenden 19. Jahrhundert vorstellte. Diese Vorstellung hat mit den Gegebenheiten der realen Mondlandung im Jahre 1969 sehr wenig gemein. Die Entstehungszeit übt in zweierlei Hinsicht Einfluss auf den Inhalt von Dürrenmatts Hörspiel aus. Zum einen wird die Venus als eine Urwelt dargestellt, die zwar extreme Bedingungen aufweist, insgesamt aber bewohnbar ist. (vgl. auch Perry Rhodan Hefte 8 und 20-24) Das war der Stand der Forschung bis in die sechziger Jahre hinein. Erst später erkannte man, dass die Venus in keiner Weise bewohnbar ist.
